From making tea, applying face-masks, to actually doing the dishes, here are things my mind makes me do instead of write.

Is a happy, happy-go-lucky, bubbly, lovable main character just too… easy?

Deer in Headlights

As E.L. Doctorow says, writing is like driving at night; you can only see as far as your headlights but eventually, you get there.

They went to the beach while I'm stuck at home working but this made me feel all warm and fuzzy 🥰🥰🥰
A few 📚 I did manage to get through last year and I put them on a fluffy white pillow for your viewing pleasure.

I don't know if this is interesting or impressive or proof that I am severely unhinged or, at the very least, a psychopath, but I've always (work and life permitting, and when I'm not writing a book) liked to read two books at once (one fiction and one non-fiction; I'm not completely insane) and recently I've upped the ante and made it four. Five if you include the uni textbook. (What? It's a book, I'm counting it.) It's all very organised and above board: fiction for night time in bed, self-help and a chapter of philosophy in the morning with coffee to get the day started and poetry sporadically throughout the day (it's a uni set text so I have to; I'm not that cultured). I didn't read as much as I could have in 2020 (mainly because I was staring into space in disbelief a lot) but I'm finally getting the hang of this whole lockdown thing.
